The closest airport is Edinburgh Airport (EDI).

We aren't doing a hotel block, as there are so many lovely hotels in Edinburgh for various budgets. Rooms at Borthwick will be assigned as we receive RSVPs. Borthwick can support a limited number of overnight guests, and we will prioritize family and the wedding party for these. There are three 1br1ba AirBnBs near the castle we can help you book, just reach out to us for links. If there is no room near the castle, we have a few recommendations for accommodation for different budgets in Edinburgh: Yotel, Parliament House Hotel, House of Gods. Let us know and we can help arrange transportation as well.

If you are not staying at Borthwick Castle, let us know where you are, and we will arrange group transport to get you to the castle. On May 23, there will be a coach from Borthwick Castle back to Edinburgh. For other travel, we recommend the buses and trams (you can use tap to pay!) or taxis (book using the City Cabs-Edinburgh app).

You may join us for drinks and the rehearsal dinner at May 21 at Borthwick Castle at 6:30PM, and for the wedding day at 3:30 PM. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. You will be able to rest in the Stateroom before being ushered to your seat. Once the ceremony begins, no entrance will be granted.

If your invitation says "and Guest," then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you. We need to lock in our menus and headcounts six weeks ahead so let us know if you would like to bring anyone else.

There will be themes of blood, death, and darkness. Wine will flow and ghosts will walk the halls. We want all guests and vendors to feel safe during the event. We highly recommend not bringing children and those faint of heart to this event.

Scotland in May can be cold to mild. Expect rain, it's Scotland! Luckily, most activities will be indoors. Bring rain-appropriate gear just in case!

For the Rehearsal Dinner, dress medieval, whimsical elven. Tones of gold and pastel will do nicely (just not white, of course!) One the Wedding Day, black is perfect. Dark colors and fabrics that make you think "Gothic Romance." Deep purples and blues and greens, velvet, leather and lace. Naturally, please do not wear white! Wear comfortable shoes, as there are a lot of stairs in Borthwick Castle.

Wine will be available at the wedding dinner, and we will cover up to a certain amount at the rehearsal dinner and at cocktail hour and reception. For additional drinks, the bar is cashless, so you can use a card or put it on your room tab. For those who don't drink alcohol, there are zero proof options.

Please do not record videos, take photos, or take live calls during the ceremony. We want you all present with us in the moment. We have professional photographers and videographers that will capture the ceremony for us. Other than at the ceremony, feel free to take pictures and videos, as long as you do not interfere with our vendors' work.

If we do not receive your RSVP by the deadline of March 1st, 2027, you will be automatically marked as "no". We will miss celebrating with you, but it is imperative we provide our vendors with a final guest count to ensure space, food, and safety. Thank you for understanding!
